Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical | 3 Years | Commencing January 2027 Ever wondered who keeps a chocolate factory running? You could. BGT Jobs & Training is partnering with Mars Ballarat to find their next Fitter & Turner Apprentice — and this is a pretty remarkable place to learn your trade.

Over three years, you’ll work across different areas of the Mars Ballarat factory, learning from experienced people and developing the mechanical skills needed to help keep a major manufacturing operation running reliably.


And yes, your workplace happens to make some of the world’s best-known chocolate.


Learn a trade by actually doing it


This isn’t three years spent watching from the sidelines.


You’ll gain hands-on experience across the factory, learning about the maintenance and reliability of manufacturing equipment while completing your nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical.


You’ll combine structured training with real experience on the tools, giving you the skills and confidence to build a long-term career in the trade.

You don’t need to arrive knowing everything. You need to want to learn.


We’re looking for someone who:


  • has a genuine interest in mechanics and enjoys understanding how things work
  • is keen to learn both in the classroom and on the tools
  • works well with others but can also get on with a job independently
  • can follow instructions, organise their work and tackle different tasks
  • takes workplace health and safety seriously.

Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment would be useful, but it isn’t essential.
